OUR INHERITANCE IN 

JESUS CHRIST

Scripture reading: Rom. 8:17

        The boundless realms of God's universe, those in heaven and those in earth, are Jesus Christ's by His birthright. As the only begotten Son of the Everlasting Father. He is "heir of all things," and is the sole proprietor of the creation of God. The incomparable blessing to the Body Of Christ, His church, is that He has given us joint inheritance to all that are His through the new birth. When we accept Jesus as our Savior and are birthed into His body by His Spirit all of heaven is ours: the gold street leading to His throne, the gates of pearl, the river of life, and our everlasting abode is there when He calls us from the earth.

        All that He has and all that He is, He shares with his children. He has made us a kingdom and, as His sons, we are His royal priesthood. He made us to be a generation of priests and kings by his blood. What an inheritance this is to be called the sons of God.

        When the Head is crowned the entire Body shares the kingdom. The reward of every Christian conqueror (and some are more than conquerors), share Jesus Christ's throne, palace, treasure, robe, and His heritage. A more superior kingdom than any of this earthly realm, where kingdoms rise and fall and are powered by greed, avarice and power. Jesus Christ's kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and when we are structured, as the apostle Peter outlined in the second book he penned to the believers, we have an entrance into this everlasting kingdom of Jesus Christ..

        When He prayed "The glory which thou gavest me have I given them." Then stressed to His disciples "These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full" the glory of having Jesus Christ dwell in each believer by His Spirit is ours and we are given the promise to appear with Him in glory.

        He rejoices over us, for not only do we have an inheritance in the glory of the world to come, we have His righteousness, joy and peace here in our earthly walk. Jesus knew the Father was always with Him and we have inherited this aspect also. He will never leave us or forsake us. He is there when we walk through the valley, He is there when doubts assail us, He is there when the enemy tries to defeat us, when we pass through the waters-- they will not overflow us, we pass through the fire...we will not be burned. Children this is our inheritance. The Will granting this is in His Word... the Bible. They are clearly outlined in His Will. If you inherited and earthly wealth and did not go to hear the will read (and do what it said to do to inherit) and take possession of your inheritance...it would still be available but not possessed by you. Have we claimed our full inheritance?

        It's is high time we rise up and take this wealth Jesus Christ has bequeathed us and go forth in the world of darkness and share our inheritance with others to fulfill the commission He gave to all believers. His is not a mystical kingdom.. it is not just to run to some group and speak a word or make sure our presence is there every time the door where we worship opens. No, this is how all our actions are motivated by the Will of the Father.. remember we are joint-heirs with Jesus Christ and He always did what He saw the Father do.

        We have been warned not to harden our hearts and be stiff-necked as the children of Israel did after escaping bondage, and were not allowed to enter into rest. After our deliverance from the darkness of sin, our rest is in the Word of God...it is still sharp and powerful and will pluck up old carnal man-made teachings and plant the incorruptible seed in ever area of our soulish man. The Word is what we rest in and is given to us as a tool to work the works of God, as Jesus rested from His works...so shall we.
