Crumbs Before the Feast "And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their master's table."- Matthew 15:25 Here Is the best example of humility in one seeking Jesus for deliverance. This woman was not received in the town where Jesus was ministering and this passage of scripture delegated her to a place of being unworthy in that arena.(Tyre & Sidon) The Syro-Phoenician woman was content to come for a deliverance in her low estate if she could receive. This determination and humble attitude caused her child to be delivered from a spirit that had her bound. In this hour, while counselors are constantly attempting to make people realize their "self worth", this message is not palatable to this generation. Beloved, we are vessels of flesh that the Creator has sent His Spirit to dwell in and anything good in us is HIM. In ourselves we can do no thing. Did Peter began a ministry of begging those he ministered to "give him seed money", so he could keep on preaching and healing for Jesus Christ? Did Paul who, after his needs were met, provided for the needy in the body of Christ? Did they go on many foreign fields to established groups and call it evangelism? NO. These men (and there are many more in the Word) went about doing the work of God on this earth and were beaten, jailed, shipwrecked, thrown to lions, hungry, full , and killed and everyone of them said, when God performed a miracle through their hands "We are just men like you"...no office of pastor, or prophet, or psalmist (with a capital "P"), no apostle (with a capital"A")--- you get the picture. Just men who, when called of God into HIS FIVE-FOLD MINISTRY went after they made their calling and election sure into the world and obeyed the call of God. Can we come today and eat at the table prepared and go into the field and gather souls for the Master? After the occurrence in the scripture above, Jesus being rejected by Jewry (hierarchy of church) walked no more therein. He went unto the gentiles (In fact the only individual He revealed Himself to as Messiah personally was a woman of Samaria...at a well Jacob had dug). And this is the beginning of the gospel being carried to the gentiles. After His resurrection, Peter brought a message of salvation to the gentiles when God sent him to Cornelius' house. And when Paul was called into the ministry of Jesus Christ and was rejected by the Jews he went into Arabia ( location of Sinai ) and after three years came forth preaching exactly what the apostles who walked with Jesus in His earthly walk taught. He became one of the major apostles to the gentile nations. We are now all welcome at HIS table and it is a prepared table. Not a short-order cook in the midst. Come and dine...there is honey in the Rock, and His flesh is meat indeed and His blood is drink indeed. Then go out into the world (not churches already established) and bring the sinner to Jesus! |
